The university’s resident professional piano quintet, now in its 13th season, has earned rave reviews as one of the finest chamber ensembles in the region. Members include: Heather Baird-Strachan, violin; Rachael Fischer, violin; Scott Garrett, viola; Ismail Akbar, cello; Jeri-Mae G. Astolfi, piano. The group will perform a variety of chamber music by Tommaso Giordani, Germaine Tailleferre, and Robert Schumann. Piedmont University Dean of Libraries and University Librarian, Bob Glass, will serve as the concert host.

Lux is a professional treble choir based in Northeast Georgia, dedicated to bringing beauty, hope, and connection through exceptional choral music. Composed of both professional musicians and singers from a variety of backgrounds, the ensemble is united by a shared passion for creating meaningful musical experiences. Their program, The Shape of Time, explores the ways time is shaped by memory, anticipation, cycles, and repetition. Directed by Piedmont University Alumna Emily Allison (BA ’03, MAT ’04) and Dr. Ashley Conway.

The Addams Family Musical, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and a dilemma that’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

38th Annual Lessons and Carols

Now in its 38^th year, Piedmont’s Annual Lessons and Carols is one of the region’s most beloved events celebrating Christmas. The Piedmont Chorale, Brass Choir, the Sewell Organ, and the Habersham Central High School Chorus, are featured in this special program of readings, carols, and choir anthems to begin the Christmas season. Bobby Ivey and Lindsay Murray, conductors.
